Former town mayor Durgamani joined BJP

Durgamani Acharya, the former mayor of Baripada Municipality and Femininetri of Mayurbhanj BJ, has joined the BJP. "He joined the party along with his supporters in a special function organized at the district office of BJP in Taktpur today," said the party's state spokesperson Kavivishnu Shetpathi. Ms. Acharya was the Vice President of Baripdar Pope's Council from 2003 to 2007 and later the Councilor of Ward No. 1 of the city. She was also the president of BJM Women's Morcha Mayurbhanj district branch in the past.
