Grain collection committee meeting held in Nuapada district

Nuapada: On 05.11.24 in Nuapada district, the meeting of the grain collection committee for Kharif season 2024/25 is being held in local Sadbhavna assembly hall under the chairmanship of Hon'ble MP Malvika Devi. Mohan Manigarahi, District Council Chairperson Mrs. Dolly Majhi and others welcomed all the members and officers present and enlightened about the purpose of the meeting. All the officials will try to make the process of purchase of paddy smooth, simple and orderly. The supply officer said that a total of 31 mills of paddy will be collected in the district this year out of which there are 17 hot paddy mills and 14 dry paddy mills. A total of 46346 farmers have registered to sell paddy in the district. For this year, the central government has fixed the price of common paddy at Rs 2,300 per quintal and grade A paddy at Rs 2,320 per quintal. On top of this, the state government will give a separate bonus. A level committee will be formed and they will inform the district governor about its progress once in 15 days. Careful monitoring will be done to ensure that paddy is not transferred from the district to outside the state. They said that for many years their rice processing fee is only twenty rupees per quintal which needs to be increased. The farmers leaders present informed about the problems faced by the farmers while selling rice. Majhi, various district level officials, all videes, tehsildars, pax staff, women self help group workers were present l All the officials involved in procurement of paddy through frequent monitoring and tnakhi were invited by the district governor to perform their duties according to their schedule l thanked them all ।
