Natural Farming: A Sustainable Approach to Agriculture

Natural farming is an eco-friendly method of agriculture that promotes growing crops without using chemical fertilisers, pesticides or harmful synthetic substances. It relies on natural resources and traditional farming practices to maintain soil fertility and protect the environment. Farmers can use cow dung, cow urine, compost, organic manure, neem leaves and other natural ingredients to prepare bio-fertilisers and pest repellents. Crop rotation, mixed cropping, mulching and rainwater harvesting are also important practices in natural farming. This method improves soil health, conserves water, protects biodiversity and helps produce safe and healthy food. It also reduces the cost of cultivation and supports farmers in achieving long-term economic sustainability. Natural farming is not only beneficial for farmers but also plays an important role in protecting nature and ensuring a healthier future for coming generations. This program attended Dr Manoj Kumar Asst director regional center natural farming center Bbsr,CDAO Dr Gyan Ballava Das,Sr scientists Dr sanghamitra Pattnaik, Asst director of agriculture Dr Madhusmita jena and all Agriculture field workersand farmers are present in this training programme at CDAO office Baripada Mayurbhanj.
