Reconstruction of District Library in Sanskriti Bhawan*

Special District Library to be started again in District Culture Office* * Youth preparing for competitive exams will get excellent environment for studying: District Collector* Baripada: 06.11.2024// To speed up the preparation of especially the youth, who are preparing themselves for competitive exams, the district library is being reconstructed by the Mayurbhanj district administration. As a result of the efforts of District Collector Mr. Hemkant Sai, the library in the premises of District Culture Building is being renovated as a district library. Under the direct supervision of District Collector Mr. Sai and under the management of District Culture Officer Mr. Anant Prasad Sethi, the work has been started to make this library functional again. The District Governor himself will oversee the work to modernize this library with internet facility open to all during reading hours and will have various books on culture, history, geography of the district, state, country etc. Apart from this, competitive books will also be available for students preparing for UPSC, OPSC, Banking exams. The District Collector expressed hope that it will be an excellent environment for readers and especially the youth who are preparing for competitive exams and they will be given the opportunity to read various letters, magazines, novels, newspapers in addition to reading books. According to information, this library has been operational since 2008 in Kultur Bhavan, but after many years, it is undergoing reconstruction and restructuring in a new style, which the administration hopes will help in the development of intellectual capacity of college and university students in particular. A few months later, the Gopbandhu Bhavan, built in the memory of Utkalmani Pandit Gopbandhu Das at Baripada, was shifted to this Gopbandhu Bhavan under the District Information and Public Relations Office as an information center and library under the orders of the District Collector. As the library is being implemented there, students preparing for competitive exams are coming there regularly to study. All the construction works under the supervision of the district administration are being carried out by the joint efforts of all the sub-departments of the district administration and especially under the management of the district culture officer. Soon it will be available for the readers, said the District Collector.
