Kandhamal district level grain purchase committee meeting was held

Kandhamal: (Fast News Odisha): The meeting of district level paddy procurement committee for Kharif year- 2024-25 has been held in Sadbhavna meeting room of Kandhamal District Collector's Office under the chairmanship of District Collector Omrit Utsarraj. The District Magistrate advised the farmers to alert the farmers to sell the paddy in the market. The government has ordered that there will be no harvesting from this year. The District Magistrate ordered to prepare the mandis by the end of this month. A second grain procurement center needs to be opened at network locations. Farmers sell this year's paddy because millers want to buy Fair Average Quality or Grade-A paddy. There is a need to sensitize the farmers in this direction. If required, the government will be proposed for additional millers, said the District Collector. The government was requested to propose a proposal for opening markets for rabi crops. Civil Supply Officer Jyanendriya Mishra gave information through power point in the meeting about the government's plans for this year's grain procurement and the arrangements made by the Kandhamal district administration. He said that nodal officer will be appointed and control room will be opened in district civil supply office to avoid problems in procurement of grain. By everyone's decision, it was decided that the purchase of paddy from the district will start from December 10 this year. From the information given by Mr. Mishra, R.M.C. Vaccination and immunization are working. For Kharif year- 2024-25, 22 Lamps have participated while one Women Self Help Group has participated. Last year 3 thousand 875 farmers were registered and this year 3 thousand 510 farmers have been registered. If the farmers apply for more mandi, it will be reported to the agriculture department. Arrangements will be made to keep the grain for sale in safe condition for 48 hours. For the current kharif year, the minimum support price for fair average quality is Rs 2,300 per quintal, while the minimum support price for Grade-A paddy has been set at Rs 2,320 per quintal. If necessary, additional millers from other districts will be given opportunity to purchase paddy from our district and they will be asked to purchase more number of wheels for paddy collection. Additional Civil Supply Officer Dillip Kumar Manigrahi proposed vote of thanks. The said meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer, District Councilor Shambhunath Nandi, Additional Civil Supply Officer Surya Kumar Manigarahi, Farmer Representative, Miller, Editor of Controlled Market Committees, Departmental Officers participated in the discussion.
