Valuable electrical equipment stolen from two places in one night, police still empty handed after 24 hours.

A valuable water pump was stolen from a borewell used for irrigation in farmland on the outskirts of Paikyugpura village under Baishinga police station in Betanati, Mayurbhanj district late last night. As a result, farmers who draw water from this irrigation project for their farmland are sitting with their hands on their heads. In this regard, the police have registered a case number 416 on the complaint of local farmer Manas Kumar Puhan and are investigating. Similarly, a case number 417 has been registered on the complaint of Baishinga Tata Power Electricity Section Engineer Prashant Kumar Nayak regarding the theft of a valuable copper coil inside a 16 KVA electricity transformer near this village and investigation is underway. Although the accused had already cut one side of the 11 KV power line, due to some reason they were not able to cut the other side. Then they opened the transformer and threw it in the nearby farmland and removed the valuable copper coil from it. As a result, the entire village dependent on this transformer is now spending its time in the dark. Information has been received from the electricity officer that coils have been stolen from four such transformers in the last six months. There is talk in the local area that a specific racket is working in a planned manner in such illegal activities. Even though twenty-four hours have passed since the incident, the police have not been able to get any leads about the accused. Due to the apathy of the police administration, the villagers are facing a lot of problems due to theft of electrical equipment.
