District level Mandia Day 2024 is celebrated A food fair and exhibition are held under the Shree Anna Abhiyan

Baripada:: 10. 11. 2024//Odisha Government has declared November 10th as Mandia Day In this context, district level International Year of Millets and Mandia Day 2024 has been celebrated in the office premises of Chief District Agriculture Officer of Mayurbhanj District. Along with this, district level food fairs and exhibitions have been held under the Shree Anna Abhiyan of the state government. Hon'ble Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Public Enterprise Dr. Krishnachandra Mohapatra inaugurated this district level food fair as the chief guest while Hon'ble Baripada MLA Mr. Prakash Soren as the guest of honor and district council chairperson Ms. Bharti Hasda communicated about the district level program. Beautified. In this context, Hon'ble Minister Dr. Mahapatra said that our state and country is an agricultural country. Mandia is one such food that provides nutrition to the body and boosts immunity. We used to go to Mandia and eat cake. Now, with the increasing popularity of Mandia, different types of Mandia food are being prepared by Mission Shakti Maa. Mandia keeps the body healthy, he advised children to avoid fast food and eat Mandia food. However, under this plan, there is a provision to provide an incentive amount of Rs. 10,000 per hectare to the millet farmers under the field exhibition in the first year, Rs. 7,500 in the second year, Rs. 5,000 in the third year and Rs. 2,000 in the fourth and fifth years. Similarly, the scheme also provides for crop diversification, post-harvest management and thresher cutting machines, custom hiring centres, group managed seed centres, M-PAS method for organic material preparation and millet marketing and export. At the district level, Shree Anna and Food Melas are being organized to increase the nutritional value of nutritious grains and Shree Anna by recuperating them and including them in every food dish. As this is an experiential program of various stakeholders, cooperation of all is desired through this program for its successful implementation. In the beginning, District Agriculture Officer Mr. Siddharth Shankar Behura highlighted the importance of celebrating Mandya Day. On this occasion, 14 farmers and SHG women who were able to expand Mandia farming in different blocks of the district and produce grain were awarded by the guests. On this occasion, prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners of the school level quiz competition and the winners of the cooking competition. All the guests highlighted how millet farming can be cultivated by more people in more areas in the district and reach everyone's food plate. Mandia farmers of Mayurbhanj district are being awarded at various forums as leading farmers at state and international level. Later, the guests visited the district level food fair and exhibition. In this program, Deputy Director of Agriculture Ms. Madhusmita Jena conducted the meeting and gave vote of thanks at the end. Mr. Sudshanshu Shekhar Panda, Assistant Agricultural Officer still Coordinator, assisted in the management. At the end, a cultural program was held on the visit of Millet. Mission Shakti women from different blocks, self help groups, millet farmers, media representatives, school students were present on this occasion.
